Post-Apocalyptic Survival

Post  Felicia on Wed Jun 06, 2012 11:40 am

Consider your skills. Based on these, would you be able to survive at least a year in a post-apocalyptic world? Imagine...no electricity, no plumbing, no grocery stores, no INTERNET! and so on...

I'm straight up country and have a lot of strange skills. I can live off of the land, for sure. I can make and fix things. So forth and so on...

Well...I'm proud to say that I have some basic survival skills, yes I've been in situations where there was no electricity for weeks...and for the best part of my early childhood I lived off land, what ever my grandparents planted was what we ate, so I got that strong country foundations in me...I read a great book on this topic called Nuclear War Survival Skills by Cresson H. Kearny. I think that if people actually survive the blast, with some good ahead planning, there is a big chance for long term survival...

I think I could survive it, if it happens. I'm from Texas so I'm still a country girl at heart. I can garden, cook, sew, make things, and several other skills; and can always go back to the farm if necessary. But, I choose not to feed into the gloom and doom bull of an upcoming apocalypse. I choose the alternate version of the 2012 scenario. 2012 is not the end of the world but a change over from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius. Besides, I've heard from an anonymous source that there will be no nuclear war. This has all been stopped and the 'cabal' is on it's way out. I see a brighter day ahead! That's my story and I'm sticking with it. Very Happy
